1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of this website and any services provided by Owntech Company Limited (“OwnTechs”, “we”, “us”), a company incorporated in the United Republic of Tanzania with its principal office at Mikocheni, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. By accessing this website, requesting a quotation or engaging us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Services and quotations
- Quotations requested through this website are estimates based on the information you provide and remain valid for fourteen (14) days unless otherwise stated in writing.
- A quotation is not an order confirmation. Work commences only after written approval, an agreed scope of work and payment terms.
- Prices exclude VAT unless expressly stated and may be revised where scope, specifications or vendor pricing change.
- Delivery, installation and support timelines are estimates; where third-party imports are involved, OwnTechs is not liable for delays outside its reasonable control.
3. Your use of this website
- You agree to use this website lawfully and not to attempt to breach, probe or disrupt its security.
- Content on this website (including the design, theme and text) is owned by Owntech Company Limited or its licensors and may not be copied, resold or republished without written permission.
- Partner names and logos shown are the property of the respective partners and are displayed for reference only.
4. Intellectual property
All materials created by OwnTechs for you remain per the signed agreement; until final payment is received, ownership of deliverables remains with OwnTechs. Any pre-built templates, themes, plugins or in-house products (including the OwnRFID application) remain the property of Owntech Company Limited; you receive a non-exclusive licence to use them as agreed.
5. Payments
- Invoices are payable in the currency and within the period stated on the invoice unless otherwise agreed.
- Overdue accounts may attract interest at 1.5% per month, and services may be suspended until arrears are cleared.
- Deposits paid for specially ordered items are non-refundable once vendor orders are placed.
6. Warranties and liability
- OwnTechs warrants that services will be performed with reasonable skill and care. Hardware and software are provided subject to the Manufacturer Warranty (licensing terms) of the respective manufacturer.
- Except as expressly stated, OwnTechs makes no other warranties, express or implied.
- To the maximum extent permitted by Tanzanian law, OwnTechs’ total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the services or this website is limited to the fees paid by you for the service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss including loss of profit, data or business.
7. Data protection
Personal data submitted through this website is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 of the United Republic of Tanzania.
8. Confidentiality
Each party shall keep confidential all non-public information received from the other party in connection with our services, except where disclosure is required by law.
9. Third-party links
Links to other websites, including our partners and the OwnRFID product site, are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this web address. Continued use of the website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any dispute shall first be resolved by good-faith negotiation for thirty (30) days; failing that, disputes shall be referred to the courts of the United Republic of Tanzania, or arbitration in Dar es Salaam as may be agreed.
